The cost of the system varies based on the system size. Our team will review your current electricity bill, visit your location and make a recommendation as to the type and design of the solar system. Hybrid and off grid systems have more considerations other than power consumption and needs more in-depth assessment.

For grid-tied systems, the regulations allow residential client to install a system that could produce 20% more than the energy consume on average. Alternatively, for non-residential installations customers are permitted to install a system up to maximum of 60% of your average consumption.

For exported energy, 50% of the energy generated during the day will be credited against the energy that you use during the night and the remainder is valued at the current rate set by the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC). As a result, your bill would vary based on the price of electricity and the rates set by the PURC. Consequently, your bill will be a credit balance or reduced bill balance each month.

The permit fee to Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) is $150 per license per system.

With a grid-tied system, when there is a power failure you also lose power whether it be day or night. On the other hand, users of a hybrid system will have power as these are usually equipped with batteries.

The process of interconnecting a grid tied system takes six major steps. These are:-
1. Evaluate current consumption and design the system with your Power Shift representative.
2. Apply to the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) for a permit for solar system.
3. Installation of the system by Power Shift team.
4. Electrical Inspection which is completed by the Ministry of Works.
5. Submit permit and Inspection Certificate to GRENLEC to sign contract.
6. GRENLEC visits your site to complete interconnection.
